The authorities claimed he was attempting a stabbing attack as he tried to pass through the lanes designated for vehicles at the checkpoint. The young man was left lying on the ground, covered in blood, with no immediate information available about his identity or health condition. Israeli police and military forces reportedly left him bleeding without providing medical assistance for hours before an ambulance eventually transferred him to the hospital. In response to the incident, Israeli forces shut down the military checkpoint, obstructed the movement of local residents, and carried out a raid on the Shuafat camp. The operation concluded with the deaths of the armed individuals.
