Around 5 pm, an Israeli airstrike targeted a car transporting large quantities of canned corn on Al-Sinaa Street in Gaza City, killing two men, including a Palestinian freed from Israeli detention.

One of the martyrs, Majdi Al-Ayoubi, was previously abducted and held in Israeli detention. During Israel's 2024 invasion and destruction of the Zaytoun neighborhood of Gaza City, Majdi and his pregnant wife and mother were besieged at home. Majdi was abducted to Israeli prisons including Ofer and the infamous Sde Teiman torture camp. During his detention at Ofer prison, around a month before he was freed, an Israeli intelligence officer told him that they had killed his expectant wife and mother.

The hope to meet his firstborn was what gave him resolve to remain steadfast.
