Event Notes

Deadly progrom near Ramin during the Olive harvest

On October 7, 2026, dozens of settlers accompanied by Israeli forces, attacked farmers picking olives, from Barqa, northwest of Nablus, on their lands between Barqa and the Rameen Plain, in Wadi al-Jabe basin, east of Tulkarm, in the zone A, far from every settlement. They opened fire and beat them, causing injuries.

The farmers were beaten with clubs, iron tools, guns and stones, and when they resisted, the attackers called in more armed settlers, who opened fire. They prevented then ambulances from reaching several wounded people and threatened to shoot anyone approaching, delaying their evacuation to hospital.

Israeli forces attacked ambulance crews near the Barqa Plain as they attempted to reach and evacuate the wounded from the Rameen Plain. Three paramedics and a volunteer from Barqa were detained, and ambulance keys were seized before they were released and ordered to leave.

Casulaties:

A citizen was killed and 9 others injured. The Ministry of Health identified the deceased as:

Ali Hassan Yasser Bizari, 44. (An officer in the Palestinian National Security Forces)

Nine people were injured in the attack, some seriously, Some of the wounded were taken to Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarm and others to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where al-Bizari was pronounced dead. A woman was among the injured.

Testimony of Mistaclim:

"Area B, between Burqa and Ramin. A deadly attack involving live fire took place. Eight people were wounded, four of them seriously, and one person was killed: Ali Hassan Yasser Al-Bazzari, 44. The army did not allow ambulances to reach the scene, forcing residents to carry the wounded through the mountains to hospitals. The army, which is the sovereign authority in the territories, does not provide security for Palestinians during the olive harvest and does not allow activists to assist them. Through deliberate inaction, the army allows violent Israeli attackers to enter the harvesting areas and Palestinian land, effectively encouraging attacks against civilians who have come to their own land to harvest their olives."

Testimony of the cousin of the martyr

"My cousin was martyred, and they hit me on the head with an iron bar," a Palestinian farmer from Burqa says after Israeli colonial terrorists, backed by the Israeli occupation army, attacked families harvesting olives on their land in the Ramin plain on Wednesday. Ali Hassan Yusr Al-Bazzari, 44, was killed and 16 others were wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The farmer describes being beaten with clubs, iron tools, guns and stones, and says that when the farmers resisted, the attackers called in more armed colonists, who opened fire.

He says the same gangs were in the area a day earlier, openly stealing olives from the people of Ramin and Bizzariya on land classified as Area A, far from any settlement. The Palestine Red Crescent said Israeli occupation forces beat its paramedics as they tried to reach the wounded, detained three medics and a volunteer, and confiscated the keys to their ambulances. "As long as the olive trees remain," he says, "the Palestinian people remain."

Testimony of Shadi Abu Omar, a member of the Burqa Village Council

Abu Omar said residents had gone to the area to harvest olives and were not expecting to encounter settlers. However, he said, a group of settlers arrived in a vehicle and opened fire on them. "After the shooting, the settlers approached the harvesters, began beating them and then bound them," "Among them was al-Bazari, who had been shot in the back. Despite bleeding from the wound, he, along with the other injured people, including a woman, was tied up." According to Abu Omar, the wounded lay bleeding for three hours because soldiers prevented ambulances from reaching them, assaulted medics and detained several of them. He said the attack took place in the presence of the Israeli army, which did not intervene to drive the settlers away.
