"The first Zionist Hebrew school in Palestine, The Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium, established in 1909 by so-called "secular" Jews, was modeled after the Temple. Yes, the same Temple that Zionists have been fantasizing of rebuilding after destroying Al-Aqsa." - Source

The Herzliya Hebrew Gymnasium (הגימנסיה העברית הרצליה), was founded in 1905 in Jaffa (Yafo), in Ottoman Palestine. The school was established in the home of Yehuda Leib and Fania Matmon-Cohen.

It then moved to its famous building in Tel Aviv in 1909/1910, at Herzl Street, at the corner of Ahad Ha’am Street, in the newly established Ahuzat Bayit neighborhood.

The historic building was demolished in 1958 to make way for Shalom Meir Tower. The school itself moved to its present location at 106 Jabotinsky Street, Tel Aviv.
