"This photo is highly irregular and stands in complete contradiction to the values of the IDF and the standards expected of its soldiers. The IDF condemns this behavior and views it with the utmost severity.

The soldier in the photo has been removed from his combat role and operational activity until the completion of an inquiry into the incident. Disciplinary action will be determined based on the findings of the inquiry.

The IDF is operating against the Hezbollah terrorist organization, an Iranian proxy that harms the State of Lebanon. The IDF in no way conducts activity against the State of Lebanon or its civilians."
