Event Notes

Settlers attack agricultural property in Hamarah (Jordan Valley).

On April 30, 2025, at around 10:20 P.M., about ten masked settlers, some of them armed, arrived in a white pickup truck and three ATVs at the tent encampment of the Abu Seif family in order to destroy their property, and steal all their Sheep.

  • They attacked this Palestinian farm belonging to the Abu Seif family, close to the Hamra military roadblock in the northern Jordan Valley, stealing dozens of the family’s livestock.

  • The settlers entered the sheep pen, drove the flock out, and stole it (70 sheep)

  • They smashed windows, solar panels with rocks and stones

  • They rammed deliberately rammed one of the family vehicle

  • They damaged the Second car damaged,

  • The tractor tires were punctured

  • They slashed the tires of water tankers

The tent tarps were slashed, one tent set on fire. The community members managed to extinguish the fire before it spread.

Recognition of Attackers:

A Ranger ATV seen on security footage was recognized by locals as used by guards of a nearby outpost.

Despite calls to the police, no officers responded.

Conclusion:

This incident reflects a broader pattern where settler violence is intertwined with state inaction or complicity, reinforcing the statement: "Settler violence is state violence."

For instance, Israeli forces have tightened their military measures on Thursday at the Tayasir and Hamra military checkpoints in the northern Jordan Valley, blocking Palestinians from crossing in either direction.

A Violation of International Law

All Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are illegal under international law. They violate the Fourth Geneva Convention, which prohibits an occupying power from transferring its own civilian population into occupied territory or forcibly transferring the local population. These actions also amount to war crimes under international legal standards and have been condemned by multiple UN and Security Council resolutions.
