"As 2026 begins, #Israel is moving to shut down the backbone of the humanitarian response in #Gaza by banning dozens of international aid organisations. Through an unlawful licensing regime, life-saving medical care, food, water, shelter, and protection services are being deliberately cut off, accelerating the collapse of an already devastated health and relief system and deepening conditions calculated to destroy the population and force displacement. Trauma care, surgeries, and emergency health services will disappear; life-saving medicines will no longer reach those in need. Access to clean water, emergency sanitation, and nutrition support is blocked, while temporary housing and shelter for displaced families will vanish. Child protection programs, psychosocial support, and counselling for vulnerable children are halted, and emergency aid, community support programs, and disaster relief for vulnerable communities will be suspended. This move effectively removes Gaza’s last lifeline, leaving millions without the essential services they depend on for survival." - Source
