"Sunday 16.11.25 📍Hamam al-Malih

At around 13:00, soldiers from the Tevetz base opposite arrived. They called the school caretaker (A.) of the local school and demanded that he open the school.

During this time, they called Shay Aigner, the land inspector of the Settlers’ Council. He, Shay, and a policeman who arrived with him toured the school, taking A. with them, and photographed and documented it.

At the end of the tour, they told A. that he must dismantle the black structure by 13:00 today; otherwise they would return and arrest him and/or impose a heavy fine. No official order was issued.

Finally, they demanded to see A.’s ID card, pushed him to the ground, and kicked him in the neck and leg."

Event Notes

Settler attack on Hammamat al-Maleh community

Israeli forces and settlers carried out operations in Hamamat al‑Maleh in the northern Jordan Valley, targeting Palestinian communities with raids and restrictions amid ongoing tensions in the area. The region, which includes Bedouin and herding communities, has faced repeated military activity, demolitions, and settler pressure in recent months, contributing to displacement concerns among residents. The community remains vulnerable due to its location in a firing zone / military training area designation, which Israeli authorities use to justify demolitions and displacement pressure.

Humanitarian monitors note recurring demolitions and settler-related risks across the Jordan Valley during this period.

Timeline of the incidents:

**4 February 2026: **Israeli forces conducted demolitions and confiscations of residential structures and property in the community according to OCHA West Bank Protection of Civilians report covering late January–early February 2026.

10 February 2026: Israeli authorities demolished multiple Palestinian-owned structures in Hamamat al-Maleh and nearby northern Jordan Valley communities. These actions were linked to enforcement of building regulations in Area C, where Palestinians face severe permit restrictions. According to reporting compiled by the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy documenting demolitions in the Jordan Valley during early February 2026.

19 February 2026: (reported early February 20 in media). Israeli settlers reportedly attacked residents and activists, assaulted the council head, and vandalized vehicles and property. The wounded are the head of the local council (identified in Arabic reports as Hadi Daraghmeh) and Foreign activists/solidarity volunteers present in the community. The settlers damaged property and attempting to intimidate residents to push them off their land.

On March 9, 2026 (4:00 a.m.), for the second consecutive day, settlers carried out attacks, vandalism, and theft in the community. Stones were thrown at a room where two elderly residents and activists were sleeping, injuring one activist in the shoulder. The attackers surrounded the house, tried to break in, destroyed security cameras, and stole the memory cards. They also stole livestock (two sheep and three lambs), damaged property including a refrigerator, the electrical system of the residents’ home, and the windows of a tractor. At a nearby school, all the solar panels were smashed.
