"#Breaking| Israeli occupation forces detain Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governor Laila Ghannam at the Atara military checkpoint. #Israel" - Source
The Atara Checkpoint (also known as the Bir Zeit Checkpoint or Atara Bridge) is located in the central West Bank, roughly 11 to 15 kilometers (about 7 to 9 miles) north of the city of Ramallah. It is situated at a strategic bottleneck along Route 465, right near the Palestinian village of Atara and just north of the university town of Birzeit. Because of its location, it serves as a major transit hub, control point by Israli forces, and frequent choke point for traffic moving between Ramallah and the northern West Bank districts (like Nablus and Jenin), as well as the surrounding villages.
