Unprecedented arrest campaign in the West Bank

Since December 1st, Israeli forces have carried out a wide-scale campaign of arrests across numerous cities and villages in the West Bank.

Pre-dawn invasions are widespread across major West Bank cities and towns.

Operations include: Home raids and ransacking, arbitrary arrests and detentions, injuries from beatings or live fire, use of helicopters and light explosives, checkpoint closures and curfews, areas targeted repeatedly: Jenin (Qabatia, Anza), Nablus, Tulkarem, Salfit, Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah.

Ongoing Chronology

On December 1st:

Rantis (Ramallah), Israeli military bulldozers closed a Palestinian agricultural road. preventing Palestinian farmers from reaching their farmlands and olive orchards. northwest of Ramallah in the central West Bank, soldiers stormed and ransacked many homes and abducted:

In a related invasion, Israeli forces stormed Beit Ur al‑Tahta, west of Ramallah, breaking into the homes of Abbas Khader Suleiman and Khamis Khader Suleiman and ransacking their belongings

Beit Fajjar & al‑Obeidiyya (Bethlehem), 44 Palestinians were detained. Sources confirmed that 40 residents of Beit Fajjar were held, interrogated in the field, and later released, while four others were abducted in al‑Obeidiyya after home invasions.

Marah Rabah village (Bethlehem): military roadblock at the main entrance, dozens of cars stopped and searched and many Palestinians interrogated while inspecting their ID cards.

Sa’ir town (Hebron): Israeli soldiers abudcted Mohammad Nawaf Shalalda after storming his home and vandalizing its contents.

In as‑Samu’(Hebron): dozens of residents from several families were detained, bound, blindfolded, and interrogated for hours inside a home in the Safi neighborhood before being released.

In the al‑Jabriyyat neighborhood of Jenin city, Israeli soldiers forced several families out of their homes, before storming and ransacking their properties.

In Nablus, soldiers abducted Mahmoud Mansour from his home on al‑Quds Street in the eastern area of the city.

In Zawata village, they ransacked homes before abducting

On December 3

Qabatia: Israeli forces carried out military operations for the third consecutive day. Curfew imposed since Tuesday evening. Residents forced from homes; some homes converted into temporary military posts. Continuous overflights by Israeli aircraft, firing live ammunition in open areas and mountains. Streets closed; shops forced to shut. Large-scale arrests; detainees taken to local investigation centers.

Anza village: Pre-dawn abduction of Ibrahim Al-Amour. Forces stormed his house before dawn.

Nablus: Al-Quds Street: A 57-year-old man injured by Israeli forces during home raid; taken to hospital. Arrests of Salim Mahmoud Jibril – Al-Ain camp, west of Nablus-, Maan Al-Akkad, Saher Hamdan, Hassan Ayed Bakr Mansour – Al-Makhfia and Al-Ittihad neighborhoods.

Salfit: Release of two women from the Abu Atiya family near Burqin after overnight abduction. Overnight raids and detentions of three other Palestinian women near Zawiya. Homes in the area had previous military presence and were marked with Israeli flags.

Ramallah: Israeli forces stormed Al-Madiyah village. Military vehicles deployed in streets; no arrests or clashes reported.

Bethlehem: Home raids and ransacking reported. Container checkpoint (Wadi al-Nar road) closed. Abductions of

Surif: Home raids with multiple residents detained and subjected to field interrogations. Multiple civilians blindfolded and forced into a sports arena in Surif. Abduction of:

  2. Qassem Ali al-Qadi – Surif town.

Army also raided Dura and Yatta: homes broken into, searched, vandalized; no abductions reported.

On December 4:

Hebron area: Home raids in Hebron city: Many homes searched and damaged; no arrests reported. Military abductions of Ibrahim Mahmoud Ahmed Rawashda, mayor of Al-Samou, and Hammam Muhammad Badawi Shalash, a former prisoner, abducted from Beit Awa.

Ramallah / Al-Bireh: Atara military roadblock closed temporarily. Ein-Sinya checkpoint and entrances to villages west/northwest of Ramallah tightened, causing traffic disruptions. Abduction: Fayeq Ibrahim Khoury (48) from Aboud village.

Beit Rima: Several homes raided and damaged. No Abduction.

Nablus: Abductions in Madama village:

  2. Muhammad Nafiz Nassar,
  3. Hadi Yasser Nassar.

Military raids: Neighborhoods including Streets 10, Schools Street, Roujib, and Zawata area stormed, homes searched, and contents tampered with.

Bethlehem area: Israeli forces stormed Al-Ubaidiya, Al-Shawara, Dar Salah, and Zaatara. Home searches: Home of Khaled Mohammed Salem Dhuib raided; no arrests reported.

On December 8 and 9:

Israeli forces launched a widespread detention campaign from Monday evening until Tuesday morning, detaining at least 40 Palestinians in the West Bank, including Jerusalem. The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said that the detentions took place in the governorates of Hebron, Nablus, and Bethlehem, with the remainder distributed across the governorates of Ramallah, Jenin, Salfit, and Qalqilya. In addition, occupation forces conducted field interrogations in several towns and detained dozens of young men.The detentions and field interrogations were accompanied by widespread abuse and assaults against the detainees and their families, including direct gunfire with intent to kill, the use of detainees as hostages, and extensive vandalism and destruction of Palestinian homes.

It is worth mentioning that the occupation authorities are continuing to carry out detention operations, which constitute the most prominent of the fixed and systematic policies that they implement daily against citizens, including all segments of Palestinian society, as the number of detentions in the West Bank after the war of extermination reached about 21,000.

On December 10:

Israeli forces arrested at least 43 Palestinians across the West Bank overnight. Nablus: 17, Jericho: 13, Beit Ummar (Hebron): 7, Jenin: 2 (both previously released prisoners), Qalqilya: 2, Tulkarm: 1, Tuqu' (Bethlehem). Dozens more detained for field interrogation in Salfit and Abu Dis. In Abu Dis, forces converted a local club into an interrogation center where around 20 young men were held, interrogated, and beaten before release. Homes across multiple cities turned into military posts.

On December 12,

Israeli forces carried out a large-scale arrest campaign in the city of Nablus in the northern West Bank, detaining around 30 Palestinians, most of them former prisoners, after raiding and searching civilian homes.

On December 15,

Israeli army conducted raids and arrests in the northern West Bank, particularly in Balata refugee camp, as well as in the town of Al-Ubeidiya and various areas of Hebron (al-Khalil).

The army also arrested six Palestinians, including three brothers and a young woman, during raids in the Nablus governorate.

Three others were arrested in the town of Al-Ubeidiya, east of Bethlehem.

A young man was arrested in the town of Beitunia, west of Ramallah.

They also raided towns and villages in Tubas, Tammun, Al-Mughayyir, and Al-Bireh, while demolition operations were carried out in the towns of Ni’lin, Deir Qaddis, and Rafat.

On December 31

Israeli forces launched a large-scale arrest campaign against Palestinians during the ongoing military offensive in Jaba’ town in southern Jenin. They arrested Palestinian Muhammad Badad, Jaba’ town mayor, during their ongoing incursion into the town in southern Jenin.

On January 1, 2026:

Israeli forces detained dozens of Palestinians, mostly former prisoners, in several towns and villages in the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate early Thursday morning. Among those detained was a child. The detentions were accompanied by widespread raids, home searches, and property vandalism. Many of those detained are former prisoners, and at least one minor was arrested.

Israeli forces raided Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem today, arresting over 25 Palestinians in a large-scale operation. Among those detained is journalist Inas Ikhlawi. Aida, a 1950 UNRWA camp housing 6,000 displaced Palestinians, sees frequent incursions. They were later released without charge.
