IDF forcibly shuts down Al-Awda hospital

On May 29, 2025 the IDF issued orders for a complete evacuation of Al-Awda Hospital in North Gaza, which housed 97 people including 13 patients and injured and 84 medical staff. This follows continued Israeli strikes on the hospital that lasted throughout a one week period starting May 22nd.

UN staff participated in evacuating the hospital who was effectively shut down hours after the order according to medical staff.

Al-Awda was the last hospital relatively operating in the North Gaza governorate after Israel had destroyed Kamal Adwan Hospital and besieged and shelled the Indonesian Hospital, forcing the latter's evacuation.
